Shecations was an idea birthed by Dawn Perry, Founder and CEO of Platinum Travel Insiders, LLC and Kairos Coaching & Consulting. On a late autumn Sunday afternoon of quiet reflection amidst the recently harvested olive grove of a 12th century castle outside of Tuscany, Italy, in 2016, the thought occurred. It was there that the magnificent collaboration between her two brands was conceived. “Why not create a space where women who have experienced the significant trials and weights, burnouts and burdens of life have the opportunity to heal?”
Dawn Perry, a lifelong trauma survivor, has dedicated the past 30 years to her recovery and healing. After triumphing over 90 percent of the Top Life Stressors List, Dawn has chosen to use her healing experiences as an opportunity to offer these same modalities and techniques to others.
Her unique lens has taught her that life’s trials and weights, burnout and burdens are no respecter of body, soul, spirit ~ they crush all three. Throughout her healing journey, she has come to recognize that if we are to experience full healing, all three of these areas would have to be addressed ~ body, soul, and spirit.
Through her 30-year recovery work, she gathered and created a portfolio of top-tier professional practitioners who have brought balanced healing to her in all three areas. The work was so transformative that she incorporated that portfolio and began offering it to her clients in her Kairos Coaching & Consulting business. She watched the transformations happen over and over in their lives as well. This faith-based approach has garnered the praises of her coaching clients across the country. In that olive grove, she began to dream of the concept of VIP Mastermind Wellness Retreats, where the demanding work of healing could be set amidst peaceful, beautiful backdrops around the world ~ the same destinations that her luxury travel clients had been enjoying for years. These itineraries were overseen by her global hand-picked Team Leads delivering Concierge Level Services. It made perfect sense! Yet, all good things take time.
In 2018, the first Wellness Retreat was held in a fully-staffed private villa on the sands of Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos. Four women gathered to experience the luxury and healing that had been Dawn’s vision come to life. private chefs, butlers, drivers, body movement specialists, professional photographers for branding, along with her admins. Her team on the island that she had cultivated over the past nine years in her luxury travel firm sprang to life and ran with this new vision.
Women were well loved, tended to, pampered, cared for, relationships formed, collaborations ensued. Most importantly ~ life returned to worn-out women. It was GLORIOUS!
In 2025, the vision, as well as her companies, has grown. Many VIP Mastermind Retreats have been held here in the States and the Caribbean. The vision and the team are aligned and ready to expand to meet the needs of those they serve in greater capacity. We now have well-established teams, on location, throughout the Caribbean, Coastal Carolinas, Italy, and Greece that care for our clients, guide, and oversee our clients’ personalized itineraries while on location. The same care and attention offered to Dawn’s travel clients will now be extended to her Haven Retreat Guests, her Managed Retreat Clients, and her Haven Journey Guests. It is her laser-focused attention to detail, excellence in execution by her embedded, local Team Guides, and Dawn’s ability to curate unique local experiences that have her clients embedded as locals versus traveling as tourists.
It is these attributes that have garnered her top industry awards year after year in the travel industry.
While her vision and healing have expanded, Dawn remains focused on making sure that women understand they are well-loved and cared for in every aspect of her life and businesses. It is her goal to impart to each of her guests that they possess inherent value and are seen and known during these retreats. Dawn continues to bring life to the lives of others on her retreat property in Upstate South Carolina, where she resides with her rescue GSD, Victory Grace. She is an author, speaker, and teacher. Her passion for philanthropy and healing has allowed her to sit on various local and national advisory boards and committees. In her downtime, she can be found living adventurously as Queenie with her three Grand-Princes (in the most fabulous of destinations).
